On Wednesday, October 25th, Encounter Church hosted our first ever Life Group!

A Life Group consists of meeting with and connecting with 3 to 12 individuals throughout the week to discuss what you are learning, for prayer, encouragement, and discipleship.

Pastor Jamie Jordan lead the first life group with a passage from Acts 1:1-8 and a familiar story shared during our first Sunday service - the story of being a watcher versus being a “surfer” of the faith .

Jamie shared about an experience he had involving watching surfers from the beach and when he decided to try to catch some waves himself. The question here is: are you a watcher from afar when it comes to your faith or are you catching waves with Jesus?

It’s certainly a thought-provoking metaphor and one that all of us followers of Jesus will go through.

God shares in his word that there’s a time to “go” and a time to “wait.”

This week, we ask that you consider this question - are you a watcher or a surfer? And if you’re a watcher, what can you do to become a surfer of the faith? Are you “in the waiting” or is God telling you to go?
